ThanksI would like to take the time to thank all of those who have been assisting me in raising $8,500 by donating their money to my efforts. Without your help I would never have been able to get so far along in my fundraising (see my blog in order to remain updated with my progress).
I would really like to thank my Mom, Kathy, and her boyfriend Matt for giving me their full support not only with this project but also in life. My mom has always taught me to love and care about others and to take charge for what I believe in. She was also the one that helped me with the fees in order to attend the Take Action Academy camp, which was how I got the idea of “8500 for Kenya” in the first place. As soon as Matt heard about my plans for this project, he started brainstorming and helped me come up with some really good ideas. Matt works part time as a photographer taking family photo shoots, so he decided that out of the $350 he makes he will give me $300 of it. All I have to do for that money is go with him, help carry his equipment and help edit the photos afterwards. He has helped me so much with this project and I really appreciate it. I also would like to thank the Hooten family for paying for one of Matt's photo shoots and contributing to 8,500 for Kenya. No one would ever be able to imagine the emotions I felt after receiving a $1,005 donation from all of the generous family and friends of the Symes family. Thanks to the wonderful support of Monica, Merv, Matt, and Mark Symes, along with my own mother and sister, I was able to give a speech at their family Christmas party and raise a breath taking amount. Public speaking has always been my weakness, and I definitely had my struggles that day but was able to persevere thanks to all of the love and support. Even to those who weren’t able to assist in the process of the night, I still thank them for really listening to what I had to say and being as silent as they were. From what I heard from another supporter in the family, Evie, who got me through the worst moments with humour, the crowd I was speaking to had never been so quiet in their lives as a group. Thanks to the donations that were given that night I have now come so much closer to reaching my goal of $8,500. I would also like to give a special big thank you to John Grass for donating $200 dollars when I gave my speech at the Christmas party. It definitely helped a lot! A special thank you to my Aunt Lyndsay, Uncle Dave, Emily, Christine and baby Malorie for donating $200 dollars to my website. You've always supported me and I really appreciate it! I would also like to thank Veronique, who donated $50.00 to my website. You're postcard is in the mail! Thanks to Kelly, who donated $25.00 to my project. THANKS :) Thank you to my Auntie Kristen for donationg $50.00 to $8500 for Kenya Thank you to all who have helped me on this project and to those who will be helping me in future time. I definitely wouldn’t be able to do this without all of you! Hailey |
